SILCHAR, July 12 : Ngursunthang Hmar, former chairman of Barak Valley Hill Tribes Development Council, reacting to the police version about his alleged involvement in the killing of Babul Rongmei, vehemently denied it as ‘baseless’, ‘motivated’ and a conspiracy to malign him and tarnish his image before the public. He said he was not even present at his Hmarkhawlein residence when the killing took place.
He demanded high level inquiry, preferably by CBI, to investigate the case so that the truth was revealed before all.
He while condemning the killing of Babul Rongmei and injury to his brother-in-law Babuti Rongmei expressed his whole hearted sympathy for the members of his family in their hour of bereavement.
