Naming corrupt people not an offence: K Zou

Imphal, May 22 : The AAP Manipur has called upon the people of the state not to be confused over the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in a defamation case for naming former President of the BJP Nitin Gadkari as one of the most corrupted leaders.

In a statement made available to the media, K.Zou, Joint Convenor, AAP Manipur, asserted that naming corrupt people is not an offence.

The Delhi HC has acted on a petition filed by Nitin Gadkari against AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for naming him in the list of most corrupted leaders.

"Should anybody who named /call anyone corrupted be sent to Jail, where is our freedom of speech if anybody who named someone corrupted has to be arrested and sent to jail or file a bail bond of Rs 10,000/- to avoid jail term?", K Zou questioned, and added if such is the perception of the people how can the common people and victims of corruption fight against corruption in our country.

The common man of this country must appreciate the chief convenor of AAP, whose party is the only party in the country fighting against corruption, prefers to go to jail for calling 'a spade a spade' instead of filing a bail bond on the ground of the party's ideology and commitment to fight against corruption, it asserted.

.KZou urged people to come out and fight against corruption and corrupt practices without any fear of being jailed.

Calling corrupted people corrupt is not an offence in the eyes of the law and God.

The AAP Manipur will also bring out list of most corrupted Politicians, Govt.

servants, including IAS, IPS, MCS and contractors in the near future and fight for CBI inquiry under the BJP Government, it cautioned.
