He also urged them to have unity within themselves and play a major role in shaping the society and to set examples for other societies to follow. Also exhorting the gathering, Chairman of Kohima Village Council, Atuolie Mepfü-o urged upon the Angami officers to be leaders in Naga society, pointing out that Angamis, as elders among the Nagas, have led the Nagas right from the beginning of the Nagas’ struggle for freedom and identity. He lamented that today there prevails suspicion, distrust and disunity among the Naga brothers and urged upon the officers to set examples by respecting each other.
Further, he asserted that a lot depends on the officers in preserving one’s culture and traditions and appealed to the Angami officers to educate the people to preserve their rich cultures and traditions. Zelre Angami, President of the Nagaland State Consumers Dispute Redressal Commission and Chairman of the Nagaland State Finance Commission also exhorted the gathering.
