An Iraqi Court has sentenced three year jail to Iraqi Journalist, a shoes thrower on Former US President George Bush.


An Iraqi Court has sentenced three year jail to Iraqi Journalist, a shoes thrower on Former US President George Bush.

It is to mention that Muntadher al-Zaidi had thrown shoes on Former US President George Bush, while he was addressing press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki in Baghdad on 16 December, 2008.

The incident got international coverage with support for Muntadher al-Zaidi from Muslims all around the world in general and specific from inside the Iraq.

Muntadher al-Zaidi, who was a journalist with al-Baghdadia television network, has not expressed apology for his actions in court, he further explained the cause of his outburst.

The insult and violation of Iraqi people rights were the main causes told by Iraqi journalist for throwing shoes on visiting US President George W. Bush.

The court while deciding the fate of shoes thrower, who after incident has become local hero has taken a lenient view, accepting the argument of defence lawyers that Zaidi act was not to harm Bush but only to insult him.

The court can imprisoned him upto 15 years of imprisonment for his crime but has sentenced him jail for three years.
