ZoRO to pay respect to 9 tribals having died in Churachandpur

The Zo Reunification Organisation (ZoRO) left for Churachandpur today to pay respect to the nine tribals who were killed in clash with police on September one.

A release issued by the ZoRO said that representatives of different political parties, NGOs and student organisations from Mizoram were part of the delegation which was led by Vice President R. Sangkawia.

Sangkawia would lay 'Thangchhuah puan' or (Mizo traditional shawl) as a mark of respect on the coffin of the nine bodies, now in a hospital compound in Churachandpur.

The deaths took place during a clash with the Manipur Police over protests against the legislation of The Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (7th Amendment) Bill, The Manipur Shops and Establishment (2nd Amendment) Bill and The Protection of Manipur People Bill on August 31.
