BCDDC conducts social work

Jiribam, Sep 11 : Barak Circle Development Demand committee (BCDDC) conducted a massive social work programme today from Baorakhal to Makha Basti Latiangkhal which was almost 35 km stretched road in Jiri-Tipaimukh road.

The social work was conducted under the banner of BCDDC and was supported by Hmar Youth Association, Hmar Students Association, Barak Brothers Union, Hmar Inpi, All Jiribam Bengali Students Union and All Jiribam Muslim Welfare Society.

Nearly 3500 locals of Barak Circle as well as Vangai range inhabitants took part in the first mass awakening social works here today.

Citizens of Barak Circle repeatedly appealed authorities concerned for renovation of Jiribam-Tipaimukh road but the appeals did not yield positive results.

The people of Barak Circle have shown the strength of masses against the apathy of Government, BCDDC general secretary said in a statement.

Speaking to mediapersons, Kh Rajesh Kumar Singh, President Barak Circle Development Demand Committee, regretfully said that even after repeated appeals to the authorities concerned and local MLA of Jiribam for renovation of the Jiri- Tipaimukh road, the Government never acted.

The President further expressed his gratitude towards the people of Barak Circle and the secretary of Hmar supreme house, Valhmingthang, as well as all the other civil organisation who joined hands in the welfare and development of Barak circle.
