Taking into account, during the last 9 months, it was reported that police had taken up 22 cases and arrested around 29 persons for smuggling heroin, opium and brown sugar etc. Around six thousand capsules and tablets of controlled drugs and around two kilograms of opium were also seized during the last 9 months.
Ninety percent cases; linked to drug smuggling-- Khakati and Bokajan police station have recorded the highest recovery and arrest. It is also reported that Moreh in Manipur has become the circuit of drugs smuggling from where it is transported to other States.
