In this regard, a joint meeting of SHDDC members and representatives of political parties who have their base in Sadar Hills area was held today at Kangpokpi.
It was agreed that all political parties active in Sadar Hills would support the demand for converting Sadar Hills to a revenue district.
The meeting resolved that all political parties should take the issue most seriously for administrative convenience and economic development of Sadar Hills in line with the aspiration of its people.
The third resolution stated that all political leaders based in Sadar Hills should apprise the matter of upgrading Sadar Hills to a full fledged revenue district to their respective party leaders.
To apprise the Chief Minister about the resolutions adopted at today's meeting was the fourth resolution.
Thangjakam Misao represented Congress, Kangpokpi Mandal president Paosad Haokip represented BJP, Thongkholun Khongsai represented NCP and SL Paokhosei represented Trinamool Congress at the meeting.
Kuki Inpi and KSO representatives were also present at the meeting.
Sadar Hills has been a contentious point for ages and the State has already witnessed numerous agitations, including economic blockades over the demand to upgrade it to the status of a revenue district.
