UCCAN extends support to KSO, Kuki Inpi

Imphal, June 11 2011: The United Ching-Tam Clubs' Association (UCCAN) has extended support the Saikul block of KSO and Kuki Inpi in pressing the government for early completion of the Sagolmang-Saikul road.

In a statement signed by its general secretary BK Nandeibam, UCCAN stated that the body took seriously the matter and government should not delay in fulfilling the demand.

The stretch of the road from Purum Likli to Saikul is in an awful condition.

The incomplete road widening work had added another woe to the mudslide at various places on the stretch of the road.

There is a great apprehension of causing vehicle accident which would cause casualties.

On the other hand, conditions of the inter-village roads at Sinam Kom, Eshingthenbi, Khonomphai Kuki, S Molnom Kuki, Lairok Kom, Utonglok Koireng, Bilei Kuki, Satang Kuki and other villages in the surrounding areas are very bad and villagers are facing utmost problems in the transportation of their daily needs.

Considering the plight of the villagers, government should address the demand of the KSO and Kuki Inpi, Saikul and in case government fails to address their demands, UCCAN will extend all kinds of support to the agitation launch by the two bodies, the statement added.

The UCCAN has also donated Rs 20,000 to the AMUCO through the Imphal East United Clubs' Organisation (IEUCO) as help for organizing the Unity Day on June 18, another statement of the body informed.
