Chidambaram arrived at Imphal airport at around 6.30 pm today from Delhi and drove straight to Raj Bhavan where he will hold the discussions, official sources said.
Top police and civil officials would also attend the meeting, they said.
Chidambaram would visit interior Ukhrul district bordering Myanmar to inaugurate the newly-constructed mini secretariat building.
He would also hold meeting with chiefs of some villages in Ukhrul district before flying back to Delhi tomorrow afternoon.
