The Northeast has something to cheer about. The music video of a promotional song of upcoming movie, "Dear Friend Hitler", has a lot of people from the region.
Delhi-based model from Nagaland Esther Zamir has donned the female lead in the promotional song shot this month in Noida.
The music video is slated to be released next month, may be during the IPL.
After scurrying through outdoor locations in Chandigarh and Delhi, director of the music video, Nalin Singh, went ahead with his project; his choice was the indoor location of Film City Noida with thousands dancing in the background.
The song begins at the stroke of midnight, as if to signify that when the whole world sleeps India wakes up. "This patriotic song is dedicated to the whole world, including India...jaldayani faldayani..barar chalae..sheetal sheetal...this song came in directly from my heart when I was writing it...
I felt for my country and wrote it," said lyricist Pallavi Mishra. "The risk of scenes hitting the web and getting leaked was high as had been the case with a lot of films being shot in Delhi recently. The fluctuating weather of Delhi, that could have simply spoiled the outdoor shoot, the indoor performance ensured a controlled ambiance,” director of the video Nalini Singh told NEWS LIVE.
"Northeast has got the best rock bands in India, rock music breeds there and I've always seen them present in all the rock shows in India. Unfortunately Bollywood has not represented much of them...presenting them in a patriotic Hindi rock song from India for world peace thrilled me, it would also show the diversity of our culture our mother land," Singh added. Music, particularly, the rock genre, has done wonders to the already fiery patriotic lyrics.
The song represents today's generation. Despite wearing torn jeans, bundanas, and crazy T-shirts, love for India still remains in our head and heart," said Anil Sharma, producer of the movie.
