Chief Secretary’s Pu Lalthara's mother passes away

Kohima, May 25 : The Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the death of Chief Secretary Lalthara’s mother, late Laü, who died this morning at 10:40 am due to old age. She was 93 years old.

She was a God fearing and hardworking woman who made much contribution towards the betterment of society, stated Rio in a condolence note.

He also added that among her seven children, three sons are distinguished bureaucrats belonging to Indian Administrative Service department and one daughter is a Reader and Head of Department of the Education department of Mizoram University.

“Her sincerity, dedication and tireless work are best exemplified by her children who have distinguished themselves in their respective professions and are working significant contributions to society. The achievement of the children further indicate that she was a caring and an excellent mother who carried out more then her motherly duties as her husband has pre-deceased her,” he added.

Moreover, he stated that late Laü was loved by all section of society as she epitomized what an ideal women and mother should be and she will continued to remain a role model for the present and younger generations. In her loss, Mizo society has loss a role model and a caring mother.
