Zomi Council urges to Manipur Govt

Imphal, July 5  Zomi Council Jiri-Vangai Zone urged upon the State Government to speed up the investigation into the killing of Chingkholkim Hatlang, a teenage girl of Doltang village under Tipaimukh sub-division of Churachandpur district, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

The Council further warned that it would launch intense agitation if the culprits are not booked at the earliest.

General Secretary of the Council, LK Ngaihte lamented that after the brutal killing of the Paite girl, women of Doltang particularly young girls have been preventing themselves from venturing out for their daily activities.

He also urged the authority to do the needful in this regard.

Mention may be made that the girl was found murdered near her village on June 7 .
